Many of you may already know this, but the most recent report from the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) indicates that the planned highway through the Serengenti Park in Tanzania will not go through. This highway would have disrupted the migration of Wildebeest, zebras and other plains animals, the largest animal migration in the world. Thanks to the African Wildlife Foundation and its supporters, who wrote letters and sent e-mails to the Government of Tanzania, it looks like there will be a significant change to the route. If the revised route is accepted, it will allow for commerce and development, which seems to be the main issue, without causing the collapse of a number of wildlife species.
This organization does a great job in Africa, and is a powerful voice for wildlife and conservation in that part of the world.
