I'll have to post a close up of Sophie...her eyes are HUGE and gorgeous as well...

Her delivery was quite unusual..for me, at least...she wouldn't let me leave during the process...she would put her little head in my lap and I'd rub her tummy during the contractions or "hold her paw"......she's only about 8 1/2 lbs...but she actually had 6 1/2 kittens in her...delivery #3 was stillborn (I won't go into the details) and she had an undeveloped fetus (won't go into those details either..yuk)

she showed up on my deck 24 hours before delivery...I'm pretty sure she was dumped...poor thing...not sure of her age...probably between 2 and 3...

I'm so glad you were able to take poor Sophie in. No wonder she isn't concerned about how the other 2 girls treat her--she probably is on Cloud 9 now after what she's been thru! She obviously loves you! :D

That's sort of how I ended up with my Jasper. I have a stray who I used to feed - she showed up my garage one day in labor. She only had 3 kittens. I kept Jasper - the other 2 were both black and I found them a home together. The mother is grey and I call her Missy - she still lives outside. :)

Every cat has such a distinct personality & that is what makes living with them so interesting!

Oh NO !! A bit o jealousy going on or what ?? Maybe Mama was startled, who knows ?? Do you have Mama & babies in a room alone so not to be disturbed by your older cats?? Bet Skye & Choloe are upset over the new house mates ----hmmm!! Poor Sophie, such a rough beginning & welcome after just giving birth!
Are you going to keep all the babies ??? Mama is a beauty too. Wonder if maternal instinct will come over the older gals?? Good Luck !! :)

SGB - Thanks for the lovely pictures of Skye, Chloe, and your newest addition - Ms. Sophie.

I do hope things are calmer today and that Skye and Sophie have kissed and made up.

I bet they'll be friends before you know it. It took 2 weeks of growling at Buttons before Callie even allowed Buttons on our bed

I was thinking that maybe Sophie fighting back would show Skye that she isn't a wimp & maybe get her some respect! Hopefully, that will happen & Sophie will be accepted...

Oh my. Good luck with making peace in your household, skygirlblue. It would be interesting to know what is going on in those cute, furry little brains. Keep us posted on the saga . . .

OK time for some giggles. One of the many I have

Excerpts from a Dog's Diary......
8:00 am - Dog food! My favorite thing!
9:30 am - A car ride! My favorite thing!
9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favorite thing!
10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing!
12:00 pm - Lunch! My favorite thing!
1:00 pm - Played in the yard! My favorite thing!
3:00 pm - Wagged my tail! My favorite thing!
5:00 pm - Milk Bones! My favorite thing!
7:00 pm - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!
8:00 pm - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!
11:00 pm - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!

Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary...
Day 983 of my captivity..
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.
Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. ;
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am.
Bastards.
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now.................

Lara does that al the time, whenever the sun shines and hits something shiny, like my husbands watch or a spoon or . . .
And yes, Freya is a huge cat, especially when you see her next to Lara. :catmoon:
