 I had just opened the cam (around 10:05) and two men wearing hard hats and climbing gear walked past the nest box. They continued on out of sight, but I kept watching in case they were ding escorted by a falcon. At first I didn’t see anything, but then I noticed the bobbing tail feathers of a disgruntled falcon. They were perched on the ironwork barely visible at the top of the view. Nice to see the falcons are around. (Palmyra)And now he/she has come down to perch on the edge of the nestbox… :loveheart: I checked back and (she) is still perched at the nestbox, preening….I am using the 2023 cam link.

:attention: Is this something new? I just noticed that Astro turf “wraps” have been put on the railings in several places. First I’ve noticed it anyway. Palmyra

Apparently the new male (or at least visiting male) is a 2021 Betsy Ross Bridge hatch: BH/04

Hmm- this is different. One peregrine is perched beside the nestbox area. I thought that was all there was to see until I looked. Shindig the nestbox area, and there is another peregrine waiting hesitantly on the railings. ?

:loveheart: Well, now, Fiona is acting a little eggy… sitting in the scrape doing a turn now and then…Do we know for sure if it is the same male this year?

Hi- answering my own dumb question…. :girlcrazy: SGB said last week he is a new male, and I missed it. I went on the “Friends of Palmyra” Facebook page and gathered a little information. They have named the new, banded male “Franklin” His bands are BH/04 b/g. It seems the locals have a hard time telling them apart….Franklin and Fiona were seen mating recently so they are anticipating eggs. I just now noticed the male in the nest box, and Fiona came for a bonding session. And she came closer and closer until she had Franklin backed into a corner and he fled…… :flirty:

:flirty: Aww- Franklin brought Fiona a food gift, but she isn’t at home. So he is standing there waiting for her with it dangling from his beak.

:10sum: Great catch, Beth! I’ve been watching her on and off all day. I started watching an old Wagon Train rerun and lost track of my time…Lol! Aw- she is off to the right side of the nest box eating some prey. Did Franklin bring her a food gift?
