Hmm- During 10 o’clock hour cam was fine at first, the suddenly slipped downward so it is focussed on the lower ledge.

:newyear6: I checked on the UM website, I can not see any information.

:think It looks like a closed house. Will there be a renovation of the building?

Closed on December 20.

:6snowflake: I was thinking maybe the cover would be taken off once February arrived… (Did they close the nest for the winter to keep intruding peregrines from moving in?) I thinkMrs. BioSci usually returns mid February…

I was giving a quick check to Facebook when I see “Birds of Prey” has posted a picture a Milwaukee office worker had taken, in which a peregrine flew in and snatched a pigeon off her window sill. I noticed the bird’s bands were R/ 84 black and red. I was pretty sure I remembered that band combination, but checked the BioSci IDs. Yup the bird in the picture is Lightning! :loveheart:

:hithere: You Betcha! By the way on another post, the person that took the photo said that “the peregrines” were nesting on his building’s roof….

Good news ! I remember our falcons from Warsaw, which had to move to other buildings during the renovation of the Spire at the Palace of Culture and Science.
They did not use the alternative booth, but chose other places.
After three seasons, Franek and Giga still nest at the Palace of Culture and Science.

I still open this thread once in a while, hoping the barrier has been taken down. As of 2 years ago I know Lightning is still in Milwaukee, evidently nesting somewhere. A office worker took a picture of him catching a pigeon right at the worker’s window. His band was in plain view…
