Port Washington- Beasley in the nestbox, female out on the roof eating prey. She finishes it off and starts calling to Beasley. After 5 minutes or so, he flies over and mates with her and then circles back to the left of the nestbox…

Brinn b/r 84/X is at her nestbox this morning. No one else is around …EDIT The other female flew over to the part of the building you can see. She knows Brinn is there. Intruder is nonchalantly eating prey. I think I see Beasley wafting back and forth in the trees. He knows trouble is brewing. Brinn flew out of the nestbox toward the trees to have a word with Beasley…..and Brinn is back at the nestbox, staring at the other female. Brinn has a tuft of feathers on her head that stick up…

Oh Wow, thank you for the pictures, Terka! Just now Brinn was in the nestbox, but she was watching the sky. She started echupping and bowing. Then she jumped out on the perch bowing as if she wanted to mate. No Beasley. Then she jumped up on the roof echupping excitedly until her voice trailed off like Beasley was not interested…

This morning the person who controls the cam has been moving it around a lot. One to take a close up of the female over on the other part of the building(it was Brinn) and after she flew away, they pulled back and looked down in the nestbox, checking every corner….I wonder what they thought they would find?

Port Washington- looks like we have a temporary stand off between Brinn and Beasley . Beasley was sunning himself on the ledge and in flies Brinn. She lands on the perch and leans forward, asking Beasley to mate. Ironically he says No, we need to pair bond first. He jumps into the nestbox chupping at her, and Brinn just stays on the perch…
