4 very healthy chicks were banded . 3 females and one male .they are very healthy

a male has been left , fingers crossed for him ( he goes so close to edge of ledge. it is not as wide as it looks . I have been up there and :egg14:

this male is at least 28 days old and could be 31 days old

when I try and enlarge photos they do not turn out well . sorry

I found it...very bad and very sad news. Probably confused, she killed the chirping chick that was in the process of hatching..its at the 8:05 mark. :tissue:

If I could cover this up, I would...I couldn't watch the whole thing. Sadly, the chick was alive....

I am so, so sorry...nightmare of Wilmington all over again...

that was the male ,

I did go back and look an d a friend sent me video. hatch was too early. it appeared it was stuck to shell and there was a lot of yolk present. We just are not used ot seeing that yolk. it was not alive for long.

something is up at the site though.
here is a video o f female being scared out of her gourd

peter and I stopped in briefly on way home from K clinic and everything appeared calm.
I have a friend going to stop by there for a few hours tomorrow morning.

I took a quick peek with one eye closed...Dad is on the perch and Mom isn't budging.

When I came in, Dad was on the chick, brooding it. He seemed very curious about it. Mom came in later and took over brooding it. I take you don't want captures or videos at this point in time?

thanks for the update!! There are no restrictions on pics or Vids...as evidenced by my pic above...

not much time to watch today..and I'm being very cautious when I do check in...the image of Dad eating two chicks is still burned in my brain...
