That's funny, Beth--a falcon in an eagle nest! Well, we have seen eagles in osprey nests & owls in falcon nests & ducks in falcon nests, so why not? :laughingsanta:

Nest Update From Lisa (Blackwater Eagle cam)

12/10/09:
Eagle Cam Note
We have an appointment with our tree climber for Thursday at 2:30 if the weather holds.
Keep your fingers crossed that he'll go up as planned, and then we can turn the cam on.

The monitor/matanence/ camera guy at Ft/ St. Vrain wrote at RRP

The cameras are having trouble with the cold weather here. They don't work
too well in below zero temps. That could be part of the problem as it was
about 13 below zero last night, for example. It has warmed up to about 3
degress above and the cameras are both working now.

They haven't told me of their development plans for the website.
I will see if I can find out anything.

Don't tell anyone, but we are working on an owl cam for Fort St. Vrain!
We have a nest box and some years we do get great horned owls in it.
That will probably be next year however.
:banasan:
Parts are on order

On the Maine forum we have a thread for an eagle pair in Tesoro, FL. We've lost the cam though due to funding problems. But there was a recent story about a another pair in the area.... this poor female got beat up pretty bad by an intruding female. She's being taken care of and will be release when she's better. Talk about fierce!!!

Story....

Nest Update from Lisa

12/11/09:
Welcome!
Our new tree climber has us back online. Much thanks to him and our cam technician.

We've been told that eagles have been seen at the nest, and the nest does contain new sticks.
We'll change the image update times shortly.

Boy she really was beat up!!! Glad to know she has recovered... I really enjoyed watching that cam...such a shame to lose it....I'm really surprised we didn't lose more this past season due to funding issues..It really makes me appreciate what these organizations go through to maintain their cams and airtime...just speaks to their support of these beautiful birds...

The National Eagle Center has a live webcam with their unreleasable eagles in their care. This facility has been featured on such shows as The Today show

http://www.nationaleaglecenter.net/

This is the link for thier live webcam with a very clear sharp video feed

http://205.243.126.25:30014/view/viewer_index.shtml?id=814

This is a capture taken from thier site showing , i think, their unreleasable eagle Angel

Image

I am not sure if folks would like a live feed of eagles whom are not in thier natural habitat or not but when there are none on the active nest cams it is an option and also shows what happens to those who can not be released due to thier injuries

Hope this is of use for the group

Thanks, LE. I've added those links to the Eagle Cam Links page. I watched this eagle for a bit and he/she became vocal at one point -- giving the visitors a piece of its mind. :santashy:
