MISC. EAGLES ~ Aug - Dec 2009

We're guessing that the young eagle at the Central Maine nest is one of this year's fledglings - I won't be able to post pictures tonight, but one of the adults was there (and possibly brought food, or at least the juvie thought it did), and the adult was perched on a branch right beside the nest while the juvie was in the nest - and I can't imagine anyone except one of this year's fledglings would be allowed that sort of access.

The fledglings are about 23-1/2 weeks old, so I'm surprised at least one of them is still (or back) in the area. This is the first year we've watched the nest, so we aren't sure if the adults will stay around during the winter or if they'll head somewhere warmer for a month or two.

Good thing you caught those pics at Washington Beth - the cam seems to have gone down.

The date and time are there but there's no picture, just black.

I just got very lucky and saw an adult on the Pelican Harbor nest!!

There was lots of action on the Maine1 nest today. Eagle came in with some sort of large prey - then proceeded to be hounded by a Raven that wanted a few bites!!
