I have a few pictures and one with the 2 eggs I guessed 11:49 and they posted 11:50 . Hard to pinpoint exact time. It was awesome to see dad there.

there may have been things about and dad was in protective mode, but he did not seem too concerned in that way.
I have seen falcons do this also.

Thanks for those extra shots, bev. I tuned in too late so I missed the part when Dad was there.

It ws fun to watch with so many telling her to push
I must say I nearly had a hernia when the cam panned out. so I think we missed the actual time.

I hope that is it for her.2 is easier.

How cute was Dad coming in by her side as she was laying the egg? I took a bunch of shots, but I think they were all in pdf.

OMG - Two eggs now!!! Thanks, all, for the wonderful pictures and video of the beautiful event - they were the next best thing to being there.

:congrats Congratulations to Mom and Dad eagle. Dad was such a sweetie, keeping Mom company the whole time!

“2nd Egg”

Shortly before noon today (Feb 3, 2010) a second egg was laid at the Norfolk Botanical Garden.
While many bald eagles only lay two eggs at a time - this pair has a history of three egg clutches.
Only time will tell if a third egg is forthcoming.

Great shots Oxbarb and nice video DEF. :sfclap: :sfclap:

I nearly died laughing when dad flew in and looked underneath. I figured the egg was there because I am sure mom would have snapped at him(like we women do   ) they are such a neat couple to watch. the only other ones that are so affectionate are the Hornbys.
I see that the GArdens are jsut guesstimating. Good idea.

I got nothing done today watching all the cams.

Reese was explaining to his wife how to zoom in the camera - by phone - which is what caused the little goof today! He was too busy being at the Gardens watching live! :)

I'm so relieved that the Norfolk nest didn't get hit with snow! It just looks cloudy and windy there now.
