I was the first one on the blog that asked if anyone had seen what I jsut had seen. I said I thought she laid and egg.
then i came in here and when Susan just reported and egg roll I Thought I was seeing things .
But this is what I saw and heard:
I heard a little squeal form mom and then she was in the squat position, with her back to us. the she looked down and I thought , she just laid an egg. (I also thought I must be nuts). then she Just waited. then she rolled the egg like Susan said and It looked bigger than the other egg had looked. and so I really thought then that she laid another egg. She turned around adn then waited and then scooched down on the nest bowl.

So I can't say for sure but all her actions pointed to it. I jsut got back home and a few other people had reported it so......

Yes, seems everyone is agreeing that she laid another egg. But, yes, I guess we'll just have to wait now and hope at least one of them hatches!! :)

And that we all surely do, from the bottom of our hearts - they have our sympathy. :beathrt: :beathrt:

Thanks to everyone for watching and reporting!

Really??!!! Others think there is a 4th egg, too???? I was feeling sort of foolish this evening and wishing I had never said anything and noodling around about how to state my apologies. I could never get a really clear shot of the two eggs. Did someone do that?

I agree that hopefully at least one of them hatches . . . oh heck while we're at it let's hope for both to hatch!

I can't believe it... :woohoo: Now I am excited again, even at the POSSIBILITY that the sweet eagles could have another egg! I will look in the daylight tomorrow and hopefully I will see 2 eggs! Of course, I am already like a mother hen NERVOUS because of what the weathermen are calling for monday - that is scary but hopefully not in WV? 49 out of 50 states are have snow today. First time in history they think. ANYWAY, I hope we will have something to rejoice about in the am! :loveshow: :loveshow: :hearts: :hearts:
WHAT A GREAT VALENTINES DAY IT WILL BE !! :openrose: :openrose:

Oh Susan,Image don't ever feel foolish with us...I have called so many eggs and hatches that never happened I could fill a book! We need many eyes and good vibes for all "our" nests in the US and around the world :cloudnine:

AND I think we might have two hatches!!!

I t ws fun to watch today as they brought in lots of nest material and leaves etc. You could not see the eggs for awhile. they knew something because they had a light snow this afternoon.
I have no pcitures as this cam keeps freezing my computer. Peter is checking everything tonight.

a lot of people are having this problem

Now we have to wait but I am very optimistic.
and Susan do not feel foolish because I saw what i thought was an egg being laid and so did several others. i have learned that you report what you see . Most of the time you have seen something that others have missed and then they can look for it. :beathrt: :beathrt:

and would we not jsut -----if 3 hatched :) :)

Just now, she shook off and rolled the eggs:

This cam usually takes me a couple of refreshes to get it to "take" and then it always times out at 10 mins. 30 secs. It hasn't frozen my computer though.

I was curious about this fourth egg, so I asked Steve Living (a Virginia DGIF biologist). He believes it is the first egg of a second clutch.
He also sent me an article about a successful nest that fledged four eaglets. It is extremely rare. This just happened last year!

I'm still not convinced about this egg ... but at this point after everything that's happened ... I just hope at least one of the 2 eggs hatches!! :) :)

I somehow, magically was able to get the still cam just now! The Maine forum is down, again, and on our back-up Sherri was posting the Belle was calling and calling for almost an hour. Turned out she was just hungry!! Lib showed up with some food. I got a look at the eggs...

Also ... if anyone who has been having troubles with their site cares to write an email....maybe if they get more than just one or two emails they'll check into things!

Its always nice having an expert willing to answer our questions! Now you have an excuse to contact him :) Bryan Watts from CCB (Norfolk, JRB, Cobb) is working with him on it too.
I wonder if Belle might lay another egg if this is a second clutch....
