I hope to watch. It appears that the decision to leave the transmitter on NX still stands. Perhaps if the biologists decide to outfit another bird with a transmitter, they will not wait until the last minute to do so and they will have more success.

My hope is that with all the negative comments regarding the transmitter, the biologists are truly doing what is in the best interest of the bird and not just digging in...

Gigi,

It seems as though if anyone thinks differently than the Wildlife Center of Virginia we are
uneducated and are not the "experts". You use the term "digging in". I feel as though they are
digging in. Well, I will not be "digging in" to my wallet anymore to support them as I my donations will
be to a local wildlife rehab center. Here is a recent picture I came across of NX. May NX fly free for years
to come.

I hear you Jim. Hindsight is always 20/20, but in my humble opinion Ed needs to realize that by offending the " people who've never taken a biology class", they, like you will think twice before digging into their pockets.

I truly wish NX wide travels, a good mate and lots of babies!!!

Hi everyone! I usually post on the norfolkeagles forum (I'm chris7 over there too). I just stumbled across this thread.

It's so distressing to see how many people were disappointed in the live feed for the release of the NBG eagles at Berkeley Plantation. I wish I knew you were here sooner! I posted two release videos on youtube from that day. I think they help to fill in what was missed if you couldn't be there in person:

Part 1 (24:10) The first part we hear from Ed Clark – President and Co-Founder of the Wildlife Center of Virginia, Steve Living – Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Donna Krabill – Norfolk Botanical Garden. Then the first of five Bald Eagles is released by Ed Clark.

Part 2 (16:35) The second part – the remaining four bald eagles are released. Included is some behind the scenes footage of Bald Eagle NX being fitted with a transmitter.

And I posted 6 parts of the Native American Drum memorial when the female died:

Part 1 (19:40)
Part 2 (17:32)
Part 3 (17:27)
Part 4 (17:48)
Part 5 (18:34)
Part 6 (14:33)

I have a ton of eagle videos on youtube. You can find my videos at:

Reese visited NBG today and caught a few pics of Dad in the nest. His lady was bringing a stick of her own, so things are looking good!

Some of the photogs have gotten pics of the new lady. Cary got a couple of good ones:

I'm hoping to get over to NBG tomorrow and see what I can get with my camcorder.
