Eagles4kids

We have now finalized our Facebook page. We would love to get he word out and have people search for eagles4kids.com in the Facebook bar and "LIKE" us. We want to get as many people to follow us as we can. Help us get the word out.

Thank you.

This morning Lucy and Larry were fun to watch. I am going to have to purchase video capture software as my Debut trial is now over. Bummer. Here are some pics from this morning though.

Great captures, talon! That squirrel was lucky!

Sorry, I don't have a Facebook account, but I wish you luck in getting in accumulating followers to the Eagles4kids page. :spring1:

AEF

The oldest chick has been taken to a hack tower already. It would be six weeks old tomorrow.

I have made several excursions to the conowingo dam along the susquehanna river at the border between maryland and pennsylvania and since eagle nesting season is drawing towards a close i thought i would share the shots i obtained this past migration season with all of you. The shots include , the good, the bad and the ugly. ::cues the movie themsong:: there are 215 in this photobucket album with some better than the others

LE, thanks for sharing your album with us. There were definitely more than a few "pudding" shots in there! :thumbegg:

ive been down there in the past and there was alot of eagle hijinx with eagles wall to wall. Guess they like hte susquehanna sushi bar but its very eagle friendly since, as it was explained to me, the tubines of the dam stir up the sushi making it easier for them to harvest. Hopefully i can get more and better shots later this fall

Hello Everyone!

elfruler brought a new nest to my attention. It the Alcoa Bald Eagle Cam at Davenport, Iowa. The cam is offline today because a new upgraded cam is being installed. There is already a cam link on the Eagle Cam Link page so I am sure many of you are familiar.

For now, lets use Misc Eagles (U.S.) Topic to post info/screenshots/video. After we get a look at the upgraded cam and interest builds, I can start a separate topic for the nest. :ohyes:

The resident eagles are named Liberty and Justice and their 2011 eaglet was named Freedom. They have a 7 foot nest on the 400 acre Alcoa facility.

Link to info and cam,

Thank you elfruler!

Thank you, Mick! This looks like a great nest and a good cam, I'm anxious to see the upgrade on the cam and software. The original cam was good quality with an intermittent feed and no sound. Wouldn't it be great if they make it full stream and add audio?! Here is my video from yesterday evening, I sped it up 6x to compensate for the intermittent images:

Thank you for that video elf. New nest to me, so it's much appreciated. It's great how you could speed it up (unknown to my recording software). I'm looking forward to the new cam.

Thanks.

Alcoa, Davenport Iowa Update,

Monday, October 10, 2011

Testing Complete

The off-line testing of the new camera is complete. The old camera is back online for a few more days. We are hoping to find a window that works for installing the new camera either late this week or next week. The local forecast for rain the next couple of days means it will be Thursday or Friday at the earliest before we will try to get up in the tree to replace the camera. We will give you a head-up if we can, otherwise you may just see the feed go away for a day or two while we do the install and get the camera tuned up.

Mick, I posted a comment on that Davenport page, asking what the cam improvements might be, and the response was this: "We hope the new camera is better able to stream video without the chppy effect we get with this camera. the new camera should provide an HD size image and should have sound."

Won't that be awesome? I am eager to see (and hear!) the new setup!
