Maybe a false alarm but it looks like we have eaglet 2 at jordan lake ,NC. The half shell wasnt there when i first checked in this am but now its out from under the incubating parent so we may have eaglet two today

It is confirmed two bobble heads at jordan lake
Youngest eaglet seems very active too today so they look ready for fish

That's right, Patti, in the past we have documented the Carolina Raptor Center here, in Misc. Eagles. Thanks for those shots.

I watched a feeding this morning. There was evidently some food stashed in the nest. The bigger one was fed and the little one seemed to be turning around a lot, looking the wrong way sometimes. These are the two shots where he is paying attention. I did not stick around to watch. I panic when I don't see somebody fed right away. :roll:

I was really worried when they were left alone for over 30 minutes...I thought *what will I
do if a they get snatched up and I was watching...

and nothing I could do :(((

WHEW....glad you got those pics, ljames..Fingers crossed, but my guess is that this nest is regularly monitored...if you look at the top/right of the page you will see History and Contacts...it will take you to a page with emails and phone numbers...and I for one will not hesitate to use them!!! (never stopped me in the past!! :wink:

Just watched another feeding and the little one got lots of bites it looked like.

Picture not so good but you can tell he is the small one.

Oh Beth, that must have been nerve racking to watch and not see a parent. Maybe one was just out of cam view. Glad the 2 little ones are safe and well fed. I just checked and the high temp today in the general area was high 50s.

They were fed at about 930. Prior to that, one was peeking out. Then parent gone for a minute maybe and new fish appeared in the nest, so I guess the other one brought it in, although I didn't see it. The little one is in the back at first but somehow manages to get to the front. He was alert and ready to go when the feed started. I believe that he is a smart one. :wink:
