these are another set of great parents. I would venture to say we have at least one male here. Even though the little one is younger that one is huge . I am just glad the snow held off until now. It would have been awful if they had had it when they were younger.

It never ceases to amaze me how they make sure the 2 are fed full first and then feed the little one. :egg119:

Ferenz - Thanks for the pictures from earlier today. I'm amazed at the size difference in the chicks, especially between the littlest one and the others. But it's nice to see that the parents are making sure that the littlest one gets its full share of food.

After the snow storm, I told myself, I'm not going to watch this nest anymore, because how can that little one survive so much. I had seen two feedings where he wasn't fed at all, so I figured he was doomed. But, Of course, I have checked back in and today I see him eating away. In fact, he appeared to have his fill and walk away.

Just look at his crop.

That was very good to see. Maybe this will help him grow a bit. Everytime i looked today they were just laying around. The other 2 are so much bigger, they don't need as much food now. This is when the parents will cut the feedings down. But the little guy still needs more than the other 2.

you can see some pinfeathers coming in the wee one.

I say one female and 2 males.

I notice that Junior is already less small compared to the last days, he fattens well, he almost catches up "Medium" ! :egg119:

I also noticed that he always chooses to sleep with "Big" ... he must believe that he is his nanny. :smile:
