Hello, everyone, I'm a newbie here. I have a collage of this morning's action on the nest, it's about 12 minutes. Mom and Dad are busy perching, catch sight of something below the nest and soon charge at the nest to keep out whatever was concerning them. I think it might have been a raccoon:

I don't think that it's called "rousing" when an eagle fluffs up; maybe just falcons. But I wrote it in the description anyway.

Although the term "rousing" is commonly used by falconers, I believe it is a general term used to describe when raptors raise, rapidly shake and lower their feathers as part of the maintenance of the health of their feathers. When a raptor rouses and preens, it is a sign that they are are "good physical and emotional health." (Peter Capainolo, How Fast Can a Falcon Dive)
