I had the incredible opportunity to meet with Jeff Guidry and Freedom today along with 2 friends. We spent about an hour and a half together. He is an easy and generous spirited man and Freedom is fierce and fiery and free-spirited and kept hugging Jeff. I kid you not.

Thank you elf for the lovely video. The light was especially beautiful.

Between the two of us elf, we have it covered.
I only slept for 2 hours last night - I had set the recorder, put my head down on my arm for just a sec, fell asleep and 15 minutes later woke up to Mom's beak full size!

A squirrel was left on the nest by the crew after cam installation on 10-13-11.
Yesterday the adults stayed out of the nest but RRP posted that they were in a near-by tree.
Today one of the adults landed on the branch, noticed the squirrel and took it.

Wonderful--I had just tuned in this morning and caught the whole visit live, but the trip from the branch office to the nest and the flight from the nest with the squirrel happened so fast, I wasn't sure that I saw what I thought I saw. Thanks for capturing the whole exciting event.

I've created a video montage of the new cam install, beginning with the appearance of climbing ropes in the nest on Thursday, then the "man in the nest," the treat left for the eagles, and the return this morning. It's just under 19 minutes long. Many are saying that it was Mom who snagged the squirrel, but I think it was Dad:
