I thought it look like something on the egg that made it look like 3 but wasn't 100% so I didn't say anything
2 is good you know if it would have been 3 that would have been a big hatch difference
and it probably would not have survived so this is good news
Thanks for the updated wskrsnwings did they say how they figured it out last time I looked they thought H or V had done something to it

The refresh cam is working ... I think it's a 10 second refresh?

Snowy .... but I don't see ice on the lake.

Dayton Ohio update
cam 2 seems to be ok but 1 isn't working yet

February 17, 2012 - As I was watching the eagle-cam on Friday morning the bright sunshine allowed for a much clearer image. Jim was busily rearranging the sticks of the nest for around twenty minutes. At first I thought that he was alone in the nest but then Cindy stood up. She had been sitting in the center of the nest for the entire time but hidden from view. She walked to the edge of the nest and flew off. Within 60 seconds Jim had walked to the center of the nest, clearly rolled the egg(s), and knuckle-walked over them before settling down. As I mentioned in Wednesday’s update, this “changing of the guard” is exactly the confirmation we were looking for! There are definitely eggs in the nest! JBW/EEW

skygirlblue, I was so happy to see photo of nest tree when I arrived home the other night. :hapdance: I've seen lots of birds in flight in the background too.
I love watching Hope and Valor on a split screen now.

kittenface, True that two eggs will be much more manageable... I want to see both the eggs hatch, grow well and fledge successfully. :girlluv:

Had to chuckle when M/D Decorah left the egg uncovered 25 minutes early this am and chatters freaked out. Guess we're all learning that periods of time off the nest are acceptable and the eagles know more than we do, as we've seen with this pair and the Davenport pair. :valthumb:

One more photo
Hope perched in far tree to the right
Image
I've seen both Hope and Valor perched in this tree, while the other one is on the nest. In this shot, Valor was eating a fish on nest branch and Hope was relaxing from afar.

The eagle was Hope. have seen both of them fly over there from the nest tree.

What do you think about this photo? Hope with wings spread for quite a while today. Temp was only 40, didn't see any other birds flying in area. :girlsad3:

Me either. . .but, I've seen other eagles do that. .. maybe a "sun bath"? it may have only been 40, but maybe the sun felt really good? Heating up more of the nest bowl area underneath?? I'm out of ideas. .
