Boy the way mom is sitting and scutching around you'd think she is going to lay an egg :teehee:

KF, I'm on the watch for that. Liberty has been in the nest a lot today, a couple of times just perching for endless minutes. This was one of those:

After this they both came for a little while, Justice tried out the bowl. And right now (4:30 CST) Liberty is back with a stick.

KF, I do love this nest and am delighted that I've been able to capture so many views of Liberty and Justice. There were several visits today, this one begins with Justice (male) and then Liberty (female, distinctive with an arched "eyebrow" on the bony ridge above her eyes) doing some nestorizing and a teeny bit of beaking. Liberty flies away, Justice fluffles around in the bowl, then leaves. Liberty returns with a branch, finds a place for it, and flies off.

After this there were two more landings. They are sure interested in that bowl!

And at the end of yesterday:

And here is what the nest looked like this afternoon after several inches of snow:

A juvie just landed on the nest and is pulling fluff out from under the snow. I'm guessing it's an older sub-adult, from the mottling. I'll post vid later.

Revised: I changed my mind, there's hardly any yellow in the beak, I now think it's in first-basic stage. Is it Freedom? Freedom was hatched March 25, so is now about 9.5 months old. An eaglet from the previous year's clutch would be about 1 year and 10 months.

WOW....what a great catch, elfruler....

This was posted on the cam page:

    A Visit from Freedom?

I was surprised to look this morning and see an eagle I was not familiar with in the nest. After a few minutes it was clear this was a young eagle since it did not have the white feathers. I am wondering if it was baby Freedom stopping by for a visit to see what Mom and Dad had done with the place since he left back in August. He stayed for about a half an hour digging around in the snow in the nest and pulling at some of the sticks. It was very interesting to spot an eagle I was not expecting to see in the nest.

No sight of the adults yesterday until late in the day, when they made a brief stop to check on the damage inflicted by the juvie. They are alert to something going on outside the nest:
