Let me clarify. We do appreciate people looking and such. However, activity out of the ordinary might make her uncomfortable. Local people can contact me with info if they see her or Larry or unusual behavior. We just don't want cars lined up and down the road where the nest is, and across the highway. People can be driving and searching while not alarming her. Does that make sense? I understand what the eagle center was trying to say.

I just hope on top of hope that she is going to cooperate and get the help she needs, and REGI is the best possible place for her. Thanks Talon for getting that cleared up

Thanks for checking in with us talon ..... and yes, I agree ... you don't need a ton of people showing up lining the street with cars trying to find her. She needs to be able to feel at home.

<Sigh> ... I know how hard it is to catch an adult Eagle ... I hope they can get her. She needs help!

Latest info posted on the E4kids FB page: (about 10 min. ago)

UPDATE Lucy and another adult have been seen. No confirmation if the other was Larry. Lucy was seen hovering yesterday, as well as perching nearby.
I am working on getting a second trapping site set up.

We will post more news as we have it - this will take some time, and your patience is appreciated. We know everyone has Lucy's best interests at heart.

Just getting home now and going through all my communication. Most of you have probably seen this by now but thought I would post. Larry and Lucy both in a filed today. Some feared that Larry was dead. I knew he wasn't as I was getting calls from the land owner he was around. At least I can put that "fire" out. One down, one to go! New site is prepped. Not net yet, but soon. We need her to commit. They are smart birds.

Latest video: Remember I am going through everything with the National Eagle Center before I post. There may be a time lag. They have a lot at stake here.

On my way home I saw one of the adults flying. Then I checked the oaks where they often go but caught glimpse of something white in a cornfield on the nest side of the road. It was Lucy really close to the ground. A crow flew over and she became alert and stood up. Shortly after she flew away. I lost sight of her. I traveled up the highway and there was Larry as I suspected. This video shows both birds. As you see, Lucy is still flying but no sign of her yet at the capture site.

Thank you. I knew it wasn't posting correctly, but figured people would know what to do. I tried several times, but then had to go.

I'm thankful to see Lucy still flying and looking good. Wish they could catch her and help her for the long term.

Thanks, KF, for figuring out where to find it and post.

Many of you have already seen this but thought I would post just in case.

Edit by skygirlblue: I embedded your video..

just an fyi for you talon (and the rest of us who post video here) YouTube has eliminated the "long code" that we use here...but, you (and anybody) can still embed the video)..when the video is open, copy/paste the URL from the URL window. Your video link would look like this:

h t t p://w w w.youtube.com/watch?v=kEMJ_MdsBvQ&feature=youtu.be

In order to embed, delete everything AFTER the "&", including the "&" (or what's highlighted above)..so your embedded video would look like this: Just highlight and click the YouTube button above. .

Oh Talon so close but yet so far you must just be going out of your mind by now. I wouldn't have been able to sleep I had a stray cat out here that was hurt it took 3 and 1/2 days to get her I think I sleep about 4 hours by the time I finally got her I was told at work not to come back til I got her and slept at least 10 hour straight.
My prayers that you can get her soon

Thanks so much for sharing that, Talon. .I am glad you are still seeing her and the fact she can still fly is a good sign!!! However, I fear the only way you guys are gonna be able to get her is if/when she becomes too weak to fly....but, at least you can get her!!

I'm just praying and hoping that she has healed and/or the snow will drive her to the traps for the food...I am assuming the food is not covered in snow? :hollaugh:

Thanks again. . I know this is probably a stressful time for you all!!!

She seems to be spending a lot of time on the ground ..... and my 'armchair biologist' explanation would be that it hurts her feet to perch on a tree branch. We need to come up with a new way of catching birds!!!!!

They need a net gun. Of course, it looks like you have to be fairly close to use it!!

Just poppin' in for a bit. Nothing really new to report. I went to a local butcher near me last night. I asked him for a bucket of blood. You should have seen the look on his face. Of course I introduced myself first and the reason I was there. He was still shocked! Upon returning with the blood, I asked if he could suggest a low grade cut of meat for both sites that I could pour the blood over. He came back with a bag of ground up meat and a chunk of good stuff. All this at no charge! Of course how do you charge for blood? ;D I freshened up both sites on my way to school this morning.

No pics on mt trail cams yet. I am really hoping soon. I am working on getting some small fish as well. I do fish but do not have the time right now. I have someone putting out the word on that at a local archery club of older gents that are constantly fishing.
