Eagle is back (not sure but I think it's mom) and she is not happy with something. Too bad there isn't sound, she's making quite a racket I bet!

I just finished watching part of a feed. Big Bertha (in front, in case you weren't sure :teehee:) got a large portion of the meal. When BB got full, Little Munchkin and Middle child had their turn.. . but, boy they had to work for it. Mom kept trying to feed BB, who was no longer hungry. So far, the little one looked feisty and got several good bites. Middle child was frustrated and got in a few good pecks on BB's head. BB didn't seem to care and just ignored MC. .

Those names brought a smile to my face today sgb but not as much as the pics of those adorable little birds; sitting up being teeny eagles.

Suzanne. I have noticed that the female is quite vocal too. This would be a great nest to have audio.

Really great pics of the little ones PattiO. I like the one with the littlest curled up (like a kitty). Do you believe I typed that?

Thanks for the video kittenface. The little one is so little. The screen cap is a beauty.

A lot of folks got quite worried this week. They had a slow food day right after the snowstorm. Not a lot of feeding or moving around for #3 ... but today things were MUCH better! Everyone got fed ... lots! :)

He's still quite a bit smaller than the other 2 isn't he Mick! I think he's doing well though ... just needs to put on some weight! :) As long as the food holds steady.

He is much smaller but looks sturdy and strong. He/she will be a powerful eagle someday because of having to assert himself here. I too hope the food supply is abundant.

From catching up on posts ... doesn't seem as though any food was brought in yesterday. I haven't looked yet today. Trying to catch up.

Lil' Bit, the little eagle at Sequoyah has died.
Edited to add,
Posted on the website (an excerpt),
When a chick is starving, its head tends to grow large, accentuated by a body that becomes stunted. In the Sequoyah nest 2012, the third chick was growing nicely, with well proportioned body and head. This winter's weather has been mild as we all know, and with little precipitation except for a light snow right after hatching when the adults were brooding the little chicks. Down provides warmth to the chicks especially during calm, dry weather, but unless it is covered with the dark brown body feathers seen on the older chicks (similar to a waterproof shell over a down jacket), this insulation provides little thermal protection when it becomes soaked. In this case, no longer brooded by the adults and unable to shed the cold and blowing rain, this chick has likely died of hypothermia.
