Hello Catbird,
First of all - this idea of a calendar is really great - so handy for overview!
Alas - not sure where you got the data, but the
2009 data about the Dutch (Beleef de Lente) Common Kestrel is not correct!
The
Kestrel female laid
5 eggs, but the male disappeared after the 4th egg was laid and after waiting several days, the female abandoned the nest.
It had nothing to do with the Stock Doves. On the contrary, prior to the Kestrels, the
Stock Doves had laid
2 eggs and were breeding there, when they got chased out and their eggs destroyed by a pair of
Jackdaws. Exactly the same as what happened this season.
To be sure, like last year, this year the nest hasn't 100% been claimed yet, as none is breeding there. The Kestrels aren't often seen right now, but it is still possible that they will breed later.
For future reference of the Dutch BDL webcams, check our translations

of the BDL logbooks. (I try to keep them up to date as fast as possible, but sometimes we lag a day.)
Regards,
Bosuil
PS - do you have a link for the Israeli Kestrel in Tel Aviv?
