Well, viewing is not too much better but ... quite the ruckus going on out of view. Adults are yelling ... no one on the chick at the moment. ... oops, someone back now. Still lots of yelling going on. Someone needs to get in there and referee! :teehee:

Yeah, I think the glare is worse now cause when I took the picture I could see the chick better. Now all I see is a blob of white moving, although sometimes I can differentiate its head from its body.

Well, if they are accurate about the eggs being laid around the 1st of January, then this isn't looking too good...which would be a shame...since I've been checking this cam, these parents have been ideal!! I'm not giving up yet..

dad brought mom a chunk of meat a while ago, not sure if that's a sign of an impending hatch or if he's just wanting to feed her. The chunk of meat is still sitting next to her.

At first I thought this was a hatching egg...now I think its more of straw stuck to the egg..

Image

She's gone spread eagle...maybe trying to thaw out more of the nest bowl? I'm watching her now..and she's almost covered again with snow..it must be coming down pretty fast (hard to tell on the cam)...the snack dad brought is now totally covered...

Image

Current...this reminds me of that year that Blackwater mom was just covered...and it looked like dad came in to help shield her...(it was dark...so, really hard to tell)

Carolina Raptor Center....I'm not sure why they are zoomed so far out...so, this is blurry. I enlarged in hopes of seeing the eaglet and the egg..

Yeah, I noticed that they have this really zoomed out, SGB. Baby is being fed now. Unfortunately, I can't see the egg.

Well, looks like it has stopped snowing (at least for now) and that maybe she has eaten some of the food that the male brought her..

I noticed at the bottom of the cam page, that one of the sponsors is XCEL Energy!!! I checked their main page, and didn't see it mentioned anywhere...but, maybe if any of these eggs hatch, it can be moved over with Ft. St. vrain?

I'm thinking the eggs aren't going to hatch, mom's eating her meat now

dad's on nest, no signs of hatching, eggs aren't viable most likely

You are probably right...I'd rather have unhatched eggs than possibly freezing chicks..The parents have seemed to be so careful about keeping them warm...unless that wasn't the case early on in the incubation...if they don't hatch, then I guess we'll never know...since this cam is so new..

MN~Dad arrived, but mom wouldn't get up...so he left..I would love for this to mean that hatching is in progress...but, can't assume that...mom may just be warm and comfy..or maybe he just came to get her breakfast order...

edit to add: Nada..zero...zilch..nothing...AND..they were just left uncovered for about 10 min. Now, I haven't been watching 12 hrs a day, but this was a first..usually they are uncovered for just seconds...maybe they are starting to realize? Bummer...

I think this is dad...

Thanks for the photos and update.

Note to all: I greatly appreciate when all of you identify the nest you are posting about. Some of them I know and some not.
:thanku It really helps!
