Egg #5 was laid on April 4, but Ms. Kestrel did not get up off the eggs to let me see.

Italy (San Clemente) - Elena and Melenao

The cam is now live, and Elena and Melenao have been working on the nest. When I first checked the cam this morning, both kestrels were at the nest box but Melenao flew away before I could get a picture of them together.

Elena was in the nest box about 10 minutes ago.

She left for a bit and then came back.

Claudia and Ics are back on line...there are 5 eggs..

I went looking for kestrels this morning and actually found some.

Israel (Elyakim): The male was taking his turn on the eggs.

England (Worcester): I finally spotted my first kestrel here.

England (Aston): The female was in the nest, but no signs of an egg yet.

One of the Beleef de Lente kestrels was at home this morning:

And the latest news for Claudia & Ics is that the chicks are hatching. I didn't see any chicks earlier this morning, but maybe they're hidden behind the front eggs or maybe they're pipping and haven't yet hatched.

I think we have 3 hatches in Rehovot, Israel!

Clearly she was feeding and her busy movements showed it was more than 1 chick acting hungry, but all happened out of sight - as she stood with her back to the cam.
Then she got up, but only allowed us a very short moment to catch a glimpse (and make a single snapshot), then settled back again on the chicks + remaining eggs.
