I went for a walk today. No I did not find Lucy. I did bring my video camera. I got as high as I could to give you all a better perspective of the area I call my home. Even though I do not live there now, this will always be where I grew up running the hills with my twin brother. Hopefully you can understand how difficult the task is to find Lucy, even if she were still around. I hope you enjoy. Sorry if the video is a bit shaky. It was really windy today.

that was just lovely Talon. I know how daunting a task it must be. but I thank you for all you do.

but I truly feel , Lucy is out there and she will make her appearance known to you , when the time is right. And then you will be able to share with us.

What beautiful country. this where all nature deserves to be.

From Eagle Peeps and We love our Lucy FB pages:
:sum9: "Good news! Sue Schneider got this photo in Arcadia and Christine Stange blew it up....we think it most likely is Lucy! Thank you, Sue, for going out to look for her. And thank you, Chris, for helping us ID this wonderful eagle! It is such a relief to know she is ok!"

That pic was taken about 10 miles or so. I wasn't with her so do not know exactly. however, a more interesting photo of an eagle in a field was taken and that has more promise than the photo posted. I think the other photo has an eagle with two feet. Can't tell 100 %. She will be located at some point. There are chicken buildings about 9 miles from the nest and is where I believe her summer time spot is. This is where we will see her if we do.

Thanks Talon. It is always nice to have some hope! I think I saw the other picture you referred to on the "We love our Lucy" FB page. Keep us posted.

Intruder at the nest again (NOT LUCY) here is a video from around 7:44 pm nest time. I had posted on FB page about the deer carcasses being brought in if it was going to cause trouble, I really think it did a bit of harm. There were never that many Eagles around that I remember. Hope everything settles down

Thanks KF!!

WOW..that's a long vid...Intruder comes in here:

Here's Deb's description on the vid:
At 740 pm the resident birds are both in the nest doing some restorations and just hanging out together. It looks like they are tracking something in their territory...as both seem distracted at times. At 742 pm they are both actively tracking something then at 744 pm both birds are visibly stressed calling trilling and lowering their bodies in full defensive position. I think there is a landing overhead then shortly afterwards both birds exits the nest and an adult intruder lands in the nest. Based on this birds size she does appear to be a female. The resident pair are in the attic calling trilling repeatedly in full defense mode while this intruder bird gathers her bearings from the nest...she also calls out at times. The intruder female moves nest center; she is a large bird; appears to have dark feathers surrounding her eyes....she digs a bit then looks up and tracks likely looking at the resident birds who are protesting her presence from the attic. The resident birds are really protesting loudly...the male's voice is very distinct a bit hoarse like at times while the females voice is sharper sounding...both are highly agitated and want this intruder gone. At about 746 pm the intruder exits flies up to the attic of the tree; lots of activity heard from the attic and several defensive type calls...it must be very stressful to have another intruder attempting to take over the nest...this is not good for the resident pair....I think the intruder female returns to the nest again...she drops down from the attic; lots of sharp calls and trills heard off the nest from our resident pair. At about 747 pm the intruder leaves the nest again. The cam pans the area and we see the resident pair perched on the balcony branch just off the nest; both in high alert calling trilling repeatedly while tracking the area. At 749 pm both take flight and the balcony branch is MT again. At about 750 pm two adults are in the nest...perhaps the resident pair....the male looks a bit submissive so it could be the new intruder female in the nest with the resident male ... this female has the staining around the eyes so could be the intruder based on the male's response to her. The cam pans and we see an adult perched in the tree so still three birds in the nest area. The female possibly the intruder not sure...exits the nest to the perch just off the nest and the male remains in the nest. At 752 pm more sharp calls ... so the threat is still very nearby; one adult in the nest and one perched just off the nest. Adult perched on the balcony branch is tracking something repositions self and is watching something possibly in flight...lots of sharp calls, trills; one adult remains in the nest as well. At 754 pm adult on the balcony branch exits then i think lands in the nest; now two adults are in the nest likely the resident pair. Female exits the nest and flies up to the balcony while the other adult remains in the nest.

At 756 pm the adult perched on the balcony exits from there; then we see a fly by in the distance while looking at the nest. The adult in the nest is tracking the bird(s) in flight.

At 8 pm adult who i think was the male exits the nest.

At 801 pm the female flies into the nest and lands...calls and trills a bit. She pokes just a bit she seems nervous this could be the intruder female just not sure. At 803 pm she exits the nest.

I was in chat today and no on quite sure about who was who. I tried to play video over and over,

I was surprised that the resident pair sat up top while the intruder was in nest. I am thinking NF is with egg and does not want an encounter.
I tried to look at neck markings and tail. One thing I agree with , is this is a female but maybe not too much of a threat. or we may have had a big fight in nest.

Very confusing. maybe this intruder is young
