England - Worcester

Yesterday there were 4 . . .

And today there are 2. Two of the kestrels fledged this morning!

Italy - Matera

There had been 4 eggs in the nest, but now there are only 3.

Netherlands - Beleef de Lente

The chicks were ringed yesterday: 5 females and 1 undecided, which was labeled a male for the time being. All the chicks were in good condition!

Poland - Wloclawek

And then there were two! Another chick must have fledged in the last hour or two since loza's last post.

Oops! I made a mistake earlier this morning when I thought another kestrel had fledged from the Wloclawek nest. I just checked the cam again and saw that there are still 3 chicks in the nest.

I've corrected the fledge information on the Kestrel Nesting Chart.

Daniela - Thanks for posting the news of the banding at the nest of Rebecca and Ciro and the pictures. Those chicks look darling! Thanks too for the picture of one of the Worcester kestrels taking flight from the ledge.

loza - Thanks for keeping up with the Worcester, Belarus, and Poland kestrel nests. It was nice to hear of the chicks fledging at the Wloclawek nest!

Czech Republic - Trebon: Yesterday there were 3 chicks were in the nest, so I believe that 2 chicks had fledged.

Today there were only 2 chicks in the nest, so I believe that another chick fledged this morning.

England - Worcester: Have they all fledged? Yesterday, 2 remained at the nest. Today, the nest is empty.

Germany - Esslingen: As of yesterday, 3 chicks were left in the nest. Today, I don't see any chicks in the nest so it appears that all 4 chicks have fledged.

Hungary: It looks as if mom is left in the nest box with 2 chicks below. I'm guessing that the other 3 chicks have fledged.

Luxembourg: Sadly, the cam is still down. This picture from the archives was taken a month ago on 5/16.

Switzerland - Rhine #1: It looks as if 3 have fledged and 2 remain.

Hungary - Imperial Eagle nest: The Common Kestrel chicks are growing fast.

Netherlands - Beleef de Lente: The 6 chicks should start fledging any day now.

Switzerland - Rhine #5: The cam came back online today, and 5 chicks were visible (2 more chicks than were noted on 6/7).
