Great news about the 3rd hatch at Alta Murgia, Bosuil! And thanks for the wonderful animation of the 3 chicks during a feeding.

Even if the newest hatchling didn't get much to eat, if it's like newly hatched peregrine falcon chicks it should have enough energy reserves to go 24 hours or so without extra food.

Ferenz - Thanks so much for posting the pictures of Bianca's chicks. They're so cute, and it looks as if they're doing very well!

The last egg has hatched! I just watched as the female came in to relieve the male. It was when the male left the box that I saw the four chicks. (All four chicks aren't really visible in the following picture, but there definitely are four of them!)

Alta Murgia - Yes, I thought I saw

new eggshells around midnight (in the back).

Then, around 6:45 the female was feeding and I didn't see the last egg anymore, but couldn't make a clear snapshot of all four of them. Note the mouse in the corner in the back - she started to feed it when, after finishing another prey,

the two smallest chicks kept begging (they hadn't managed to grab a bite yet).

Matera single chick being single - and always tired? Since it is most often leaning against the side of the nestbox? Or is that just 'cs it has no siblings to lean on ... (Did Mom and Dad really hurt his neck when moving about so roughly?)
