The Orphan was placed on the nest on July 9th........it was not received well at all & was pushed off. A man came & got it & then on the 11th it was placed on its own platform at the main opening & then on the the 12th it was where it is now. The goat was very curious & it seemed to be a busy day for them all but the Orphan was left in peace :) :)

Thanks jjop for the info on the little orphaned stork. (At first I thought his name was Makov, but now I realize that that's the name of the site. So is his name CZ, the name in one of your earlier posts?)

Catbird, CZ stands for the Czech Republic. Makov is the village......the center is located on the makov gamekeeper grounds :)

Article concerning the power lines that took the lives of 5 young storks in Papendorf......if only all tragedies could be addressed this fast.

Papendorf: Power supplier compelled fast assistance


Papendorf (flat steel bar). After death of several storks by current impact at a mast in Papendorf the regional power supplier E.ON reacted edis immediately. In its order yesterday coworkers of the Pasewalker building of electrical installations company Kolodzik fastened St Andrews crosses so called to two masts and attached approximately 45 deflectors to the 20-kV-Leitung. The crosses are to prevent a landing of the storks on the mast, the yellow-red deflectors the close over and flying underneath of the powerline.

This is good news, sad tho that they had to lose so many Storks but at least they are trying to take care of the situation, Thanks for the news
