Sad news from July 2022: Dyfi's 3 years old offspring from 2019 is dead.
Hesgyn (Blue KA3) landing on Monty's perch last year.
Hesgyn was the last chick that Monty raised.

A North Wales Police Spokesperson said:

Shortly before 6pm yesterday, Tuesday, July 26, we received a report that a three-year-old Osprey from Dyfi Osprey Project in Machynlleth was found dead on Criccieth beach. The Osprey, identified by its rings as KA3, was collected by a member of the public and taken to Glaslyn Ospreys near Porthmadog. The bird has since been seized and will be sent to the Welsh Government’s Plant Health and Environment Protection branch in Aberystwyth for a post-mortem examination to help determine a cause of death. Anyone with information that could assist with the enquiry is asked to contact us on 101, or via the website, using reference 22000538765.”

UPDATE ON 1H2(22)
1H2(22), the first of the Manton Bay juveniles to migrate was seen at Frodsham Marsh (a popular birding site in north west Cheshire) on Saturday 27th August. She has been seen with fish so we know that she is still eating - it will be interesting to see where she goes from there!

Also from the same post (for people without Facebook) in the comments
"…both Maya and 33(11) have been seen in Manton Bay this morning. Maya hasn't been seen since but it will be a couple of days before we can confirm whether or not she has left on migration."

That was off cam ofc.. wonder if we’ll see her and/or 33 for a quick goodbye

Looking at the Glaslyn chat this morning,
the moderator said that Mrs G visited the nest at 06.24 to take away trout remains.
She was there less than a minute.
