thanks Bev...I quickly checked this morning. I can't decide if I'm seeing the resident female or the intruder..neither are banded. Adastral is located United Kingdom--->MISC

According to a post on YouTube, the Falcon pair have chosen a different spot on the Abbey to nest.

I NEVER post here - but I want ALL of you to see this.
I am seeing oddities in birdland I dont see - not this much of.

In the upper midwest at least - maybe elsewhere too - there appears to be a shortage of ADULT females. I am not including 2 year olds - who ARE breeding.

Poison, Avian flu or DNA breaking down I do NOT know.

THIS is WHY I am posting.
Y'all know banders. You can contact them, or give me the Email contact info and I will.

If any of you know a bander in the area of Racine Wisc please see if they can get egg info on that box. its cams down.

I'd like ALL pre-fledges banded in 2025.
I think we need to keep track.

NOTE
Castle Rock Wisc falcon with 3 eggs was attacked by a GHO overnite last nite. That is yet another danger.

thanks Shep. I know there is concern of avian flu . I am waiting to hear from gord, as he is on global study with others in global community , study on Avian flu. I know we are down considerably , since we a few years back when we were hit quite bad with avian flu. ( For some reason it seems to hit females

Sadly, peregrine and other raptor populations are really being affected by what is suspected to be Avian Flu..Several articles have been posted on here regarding this alarming situation. We seem to be "missing" birds at several world nest sites this year. One of the articles noted a steeper decline in populations of coastal/lake regions...since shore birds really are carriers.

RE: Banding. Unfortunately, not every state bands anymore...which is a real bummer...no matter how much we wish they would.

RE: Racine~Greg Septon bands almost all Wisconsin nests (He banded Racine in 2024) Not sure how much pull he would have getting the cams back up and running. I did find a couple of Racine email addresses (from last year) that you could try: (I'm not sure either are still valid..sorry)

Unless labs CONFIRM avian flu in 2024 - 2025 with certainty, I doubt it.

I have a hunch something ELSE is going on.

I'll try those 2 emails .. worth a shot - even if only they tell us how mny eggs
