Am posting this in case others missed as did I, until during the night. :sorrow: Am very sorry on the loss of Gajowy on 2/22/22. He was Lesna's mate at Zeran. Lesna, (Franek's previous mate at Bielany) endured injuries at the end of April and is still at their zoo for treatment, but to be released. At the time she was with a new partner Jimy, (Franek and Giga's son) who has found a new mate since and they have an egg at Lesna's and Jimy's nest. For info on how Gajowy found, go to page 6, post at 7:02 pm under Zeran topic in Poland. For Lesna's capture with photo, go to top of page 7. To tie it all together, go to page 7, my post at 10:07 showing questions to Terka on these unfortunate incidents and her response to me. Thank you so much, Terka! I have always admired Lesna!!

These are difficult stories because not all of them have a happy ending. We are observers, we help when nature allows us. We have no influence on the rest.

:15heartbeat: Putting this excerpt here from an IWS viewer as a snapshot of the bird flu from around the USA:

"Just heard on the evening news that they found 100 dead black vultures in Harford County here in MD--all avian flu victims. I think this is up near the Conowingo Dam where lots of birds collect, etc. But most of the birds have migrated for the season and the increasing temps will also help with this hopefully....behind the roving reporter reporting this was a bevy of meandering vultures that looked fine...."
