Ozzie, what an incredible eagle you were. So noble... what a love story, but this wasn't fiction, no. Your story unfolded right before our very eyes. Your fans, so distressed when you were injured the first time, were stupified by the fact that you were found! How did you manage that, you awe-inspiring eagle? Little did we know that was just the beginning of a story so incredible, we would have to shake ourselves out of a dream state, repeatedly, and realize, yes, these events are indeed transpiring. Were you going to be released? Of course you were, you wouldn't have it any other way, you beautiful raptor. But you were still weak, and knew a losing fight when you saw one. Romantics far and wide expected you to stay, but the way of the eagle precludes a happy ending inserted too soon. You delayed our gratification, for three months, you profoundly principled eagle. But not knowingly, no, to you, you have no fan base. You drew in all the strength and stamina that an eagle could muster, and put it against one younger than you, astounding the masses. Not for the notoriety, but because you wanted one last night with Harriet. Did you tell her you won a battle, but might lose the war? Your honorable ways, Ozzie, I tell you, they simply take my breath away. Were you done? Was your story over? No, you unwittingly brought us to our knees one last time. Saved again, by the love of fans you never knew you had, my famous, beloved eagle. Then you paid the ultimate sacrifice for your love of Harriet, and your home. You overwhelm me, Ozzie, you dumbfound me with your integrity, you simply amazing Bald Eagle.
