:10sum: I pulled back the DVR, and one hour and 10 minutes ago there was a falcon at/ in the Lincoln nest! YAY! It didn’t stay long, but it was there!

:loveheart: I pulled back the DVR a couple hours or so, and caught a peregrine flying in to perch on the edge of the nestbox. It seemed large, so I’ll call it a “she” She perched there for a bit, looking down at someone. Then she popped up to the roof of the nestbox and gazed out at the city for quite a while. Then suddenly she was gone.

Yes, it was rather dark. Initially I stopped the DVR when I saw the dark shape on top of the nestbox. I pulled it back a bit more to see her fly up to the nestbox. I played that part through many times while she perched on the side of the nestbox, and then posted what I saw.

Just checked on the Facebook page “Peregrine Falcons Lincoln Ne” Jean posted screen shots of the falcon visiting the nest. It’s a banded male! They are so hoping for him to find a mate :egg19: .

 Yes, I see what you mean! And I also saw 2 single falcon visits after that. The last time about 30 minutes ago the falcon took off from the nest and floated right toward the cam, landing to the left of the cam.

The female seems to be first year. A first year can nest as we saw at San Jose last year, and other nests.
I have asked for permission to share pictures, and as soon I do I will post them here
I wil also try and post some directly from cam

One of GSB Newman's mates one year was a 1 year old.
She laid 3 eggs and fledged one.
First 2 chicks starved to death because she didnt know to feed them.

about 30 minutes ago, The female flew to the box, jumped in and seemed to be scraping in the box. Then the male flew in and landed on the roof. I believe a chup fest began as she was practically standing on her head and he jumped into the box. She jumped out and flew to the cam’s left. A few moments later he flew in the same direction…
