I Brought this over from 2012 archives....
The following is the last post from 2012 thread by Kittenface and it has the info on Hondo....
I was wondering if anyone e-mailed to see if he has improved over the past three months?

Well as usual I got inpatient to see an update on sweet Hondo so I asked again and here it is these
people are great on getting back to me so fast.

Can you tell me anything about Hondo the falcon from Oshkosh nest box is he OK is he going to be able to be released any news would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Right now Hondo is in flight training. Because of the nature of his
original injuries his recovery time has been very slow, but he has
continually made positive progress. He is a medium sized enclosure where
he can begin to rebuild the muscle strength to make those incredible
Peregrine stoops. The next step will be critical as it will determine his ability to fly sharp corners. So we evaluate him each day and keep our
fingers crossed.

Hey Matrix I just posted on the Facebook page about Hondo i'll let you know as soon as I do, they are really good about giving info and doing it fast. Wouldn't it be the best if he got released in time for nesting season and right as sweet Deborah returns from migration

Hello, Hondo will be in flight conditioning until spring. He is having difficultly with his vertical flights
which is a big problem if you are a Peregrine. Thanks for checking in.

I guess there will be no nesting activity at Oshkosh this season unless Debra takes up with someone else. Or, depending upon how late Hondo may be released, maybe they'll have a late nest.

He sounds like he is getting the best of care! I'm Hoping he can get beyond this and become releaseable. Car strikes do so much detail damage to the body...I hope they keep him as long as it takes...
