This nest is at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI on the roof of the Engineering & Mathematical Sciences Building, also called the Bio-Sci Building. For more information and MANY great pics from the earlier nesting seasons:
FEMALE: Unbanded, same female believed to return each year since 2010
MALE: 84/r, b/r Lightning, Since 2014. Hatched 2012 WE Energies Oak Creek Power Plant. Parents Elclipse and Scott
Lightning fathered 3 chicks at Milwaukee Power Plant and likely moved here early June 2014 leaving mate at Milwaukee County Power alone to raise chicks.
Previous 54/M, b/g "Hoffmann", 2009-2013/14. 2003 Hatch at Edgewater Generating Station in Sheboygan. Body found in June atop Bio-Sci building

:snowflake8: Terka! :snowflake4:

Pardon the amount of pics, I've wondered about whether the peregrines try to eat frozen leftovers or not, and Tahoe showed that they do try, and she gave up after a bit, but not before tussling with the frozen carcass for a few minutes. It does explain to me, why, during watches at Canton, there is not any hunting activity after a "thaw"... I speculate that after the warming, all the frozen "leftovers" become a feast, therefore no hunting is neccesary.

Here is when she gave up expending energy on the frozen carcass, but not before looking at it a while.

Great series of pics!! Wisconsin is in the deep freeze today...I'm guessing the PeFas had wished they had migrated!!

I've watched Eagles try to eat frozen leftovers with no luck either!!

:snowflake6: Thank you for the great pictures, Matrix and Ferenz! Would part of the reason Tahoe comes into the Bio-Sci site because there is more food to be caught in the downtown area?

Tsusan, I would think it is all about the food supply. It seems that a metropolitan area would be warmer than rural.
Just supposing. :flirty:

:snowflake2: Thankyou, Ferenz and Terka for helping to keep track of Tahoe. Looks like she finally finished off the frozen prey- and she looks kind of lonely in the last picture, doesn't she?

Well I don't know who this is, but I would guess it is our girl Tahoe.
I went thru the archives for the past week and only found this. I couldn't tell if there were bands or not

Very much Appreciate it Kittenface! With the shooter of her predecessor still out there, I get nervous over the area she is in, when she suddenly stopped coming to the box...
I still can't believe the $10,000.00 reward did not bring anyone in!!!!!
