We were in the middle of a discussion on the 2010 thread for Biosci, so I'm copying the relevant posts over here:

I have been looking and looking and finally came up with this I got this information from the 2001 report from Greg Septon

New Site. Gary Grunwald reported a non-nesting pair at this new cliff site in 2000. The
male, here for the second year, is six-year-old 4/*G.
The female, V/Y, fledged in 1999 at
NSP King, Bayport, Minnesota

to the site on August 24 and was replaced on September 17, 2000, by female V/Y. Two
young were fledged this year,

I don't understand I thought the report from 2010 said female was unbanded

You have an excellent memory, Kitten! Both Greg Septon's 2009 and 2010 reports said the female is unbanded, & all the pictures we got of her in the nest didn't show bands. I'm really confused now, cause this report also states that somebody else besides Hera mated with Zeus the past couple of years. :-? (Bet Alison would know!)

Thanks for all the investigative work, and thanks Nancy for copying it over. A celebration to start the year!
Not sure what to say about the Hera and Zeus report, which is obviously incorrect. There are a few Zeus falcons around though.....not to mention offspring of this famous pair!

Wow, great detective work! And how fortunate that somebody was there to zoom in when she made an appearance.
It would be so wonderful to have her settle at a nest with a webcam . . .

:wavingsnowgirl: It would be wonderful but I really have become attached to my WE falcons and
its sad to think something might have happened

So this is Froona at Biosci now?? I am so confused, I thought she was at Port Washington. Anyway this is a very good cam to watch, and I look forward to seeing her, but I wonder what happened to the other female. I remember watching a video that kittenface posted some time back, a few weeks anyway, and I thought at the time, 'this looks like something is going on' as in alarm calls. Sorry, don't remember when exactly, but just thought, well maybe not and forgot about it until now. :-?

It appears that IndyFroona is checking out more than one piece of real estate looking for a vacancy. While we in Indy are thrilled that she has been sighted, we also know the pain of a current resident being displaced. Such is the world of a falcon...

She may just be passing thru, looking for an uninhabited nest. The female & male are frequently caught at this nest (by Kitten, of course :-) ). I believe the female at the Port Washington nest was killed after nesting season, so that nest should be free.

Very nice video. That IndyFroona is a beauty. The male is too cute too skipping across the front of the nestbox. Couldn't tell, but looked like he jumped in there with her.

I think it's here. Thought I could see the purple band on the left leg.
4 seconds into your video I had a chuckle. Indy-Froona is bowing and (no doubt) quacking and the male is looking to the sealing. As if he is totally NOT interested . . .
