I emailed Greg to let him know...I think he has better access to the MCPP cam than we do so maybe he can see if Tahoe has returned there...

Thanks SGB! It is curious someone adjusted the cam on Sunday in the five o'clock hour, so i wonder if someone saw them fighting, or found something.

:3snowflake: Interesting- Just now someone was getting an extreme close up on the legs of a falcon sitting at thus nest box. Finally the falcon stretched, and you could see red/ black bands...I could not really tell numbers or letters. The observer put the cam back to regular view. I wonder what they were looking for...

Hi SGB - yes, in the catch I can see they must be Lightnings bands....Then Terka has the catch of the male with no bands?

Hi Bev, yes, the resident female is unbanded. But Terka got this catch of an unbanded falcon which she says is a male.....! So both Lightning, who is a banded male, and Terka's catch, of an unbanded male, are spending time at the Bio Sci nestbox.

Bev, here are my observations:

the male here is "Lightning" and is banded. The female that owns this box, is un banded. She migrates for the winter, and Tahoe comes here for the winter, but has another nestbox not too far away.
This year so far, when un banded mama came home Sunday the 28th, this year, Tahoe put up a pretty good fight, from what you can see in the archive video for that day.
Even though the cam was tilted to the side, there were several times in that hour, that you could see fighting occurring.

When cam was readjusted Sunday evening, the next morning, Lightning and un banded female have been seen here since.
Tahoe has not been confirmed at her nest box as of right now. We have seen a peregrine there, but due to the once an hour only image for that cam, it is unlikely we can ever see a band. That nest is under the Wisconsin WE energies thread, and it is MCPP (Milwaukee County Power Plant)

The person that reports on these nests has been notified. We are awaiting word from him.

Since the un banded female has returned here at Biosci, on cam activity has dropped, but Lightning is feeding her.
