I usually don't check this cam, but I wanted a nice falcon shot to greet the New Year and this was it.

IndyFroona continues to spend a lot of her time at this nest. She and Hoffman really seem to like each other.

Great group of captures, Alison! I especially like the one of Hoffman flying in! :girlluv:

After seeing how IndyFroona spends her winters & seeing what's going on in Harrisburg, I'm wondering how many of "migrating" falcons are actually migrating & whether a number of them are actually visiting other nests where one of the residents has migrated (or not like Harrisburg). Actually, Lima at the Lansing nest used to visit that nest during the Winter & leave when the resident falcon returned according to Dina.

IndyFroona really wants this nest I think. It must be superior to hers in some way, plus it appears that she would ditch her mate too to get it. Maybe she's thinking, one day the resident female might not return and she will be here and ready to move in.

It was Stelco - Durand's older half sister that was at Lansing. She migrated every winter. She nested at Lansing from 1999 until she was either displaced by Lima or didn't return in 2010.

I thought I remember that Dina was very disappointed that Stelco didn't return, but I was afraid I was mixing up that nest with one of the Wisconsin nests. Thanks, Carly!
