lot s of bonking so I am hoping it subsides also. trying not to watch for a bit.

Not much time to watch today...I did see an early morning feed that was rather calm...Bonking was quite severe yesterday afternoon/evening vs yesterday morning when neither of the chicks backed down...there's certainly no shortage of food!!!

Saw one sibling do a face plant this morning after a bonk, but did not stay down long. These chicks seem pretty evenly matched. Mom is doing a great job getting food to each one. Such great parents. Very experienced and they work well together. A really cute pair.

dad was upset about something. put up approach cam but could see nothing. He was watchful after mom came n and went up onto branch and watched for quite a bit before leaving

Dad is brooding the kids. He just got up for some lunch and tried to feed both baby B's, but they were not too interested. They had several feeds today. Nevertheless, he got them to take a few bites and made an effort to offer food to each chick. I saw one or two bonkings, but nothing that kept any one chick down for long or prevented feeding. Dad just settled back down on them. He is such a good Dad. Mom must be off doing her thing and taking break from the kids. :dancegirl:

So true, Bev. There's also a constant supply of food in the nest. Each pair is so different in how they handle things. Perhaps the B's figured out that if the chicks are not too hungry between feedings, they won't be so aggressive toward one another when the next feed comes. I have always enjoyed watching this nest. I love the last pic you posted. Look at those two little darlings waiting patiently side by side. :7val:

this is my favorite eagle nest
it used to be Norfolk but since that one is no more.

From the DVR...cam has been very jerky, but they have since reset it.

Best I could tell, it started out quite peacefully..LOL

This was pre-bonk..

Post bonk...there was nothing in between because of the jerkiness..

Then skip ahead a few minutes, and we're back to peace and tranquility...

I believe its squirrel for dinner...

....and I can't believe how many fish they have stockpiled!! I sure hope mom and dad are eating...

Soggy day...and the potential for severe storms later tonight through tomorrow mid morning..I'll have to keep my eye on the forecast!!

Mom just finished the 5th or 6th feeding of today - and the pantry IS so well stocked CW & SGB!
If only 'our' weathermen were as accurate as the birds!

I just love this nest! :flirty:

Oh my goodness. I just saw Mom Berry and she looks like a drowned rat. What a trooper. She really could use a good blow-dry.
