he came to nest calling and they were both calling so do not know if another eagle was around or not. Could not video as it kept freezing . bad timing for freezing. She was not upset with Mister
here are a few pictures. I am positive here, He is doing fine. His hormones just are not caught up with hers yet. She has never been off nest for more than 40 min at a time.
WE do not know what is going on off nest. They could be bonding or eating. She has been sitting on branch with him also

Watch Caution Alert for the Eagles4kids nest February 22, 2015 — bald eagle, birds, Eagle, eaglecam, eagleholic, Eagles4kids, egg, nature, raptors
I was a little bit on the fence about this one, but I think it warrants a watch caution, so that you can make a knowledgeable decision for your own watching. There is much happiness that a new pair has emerged at the Eagles4kids nest, but a last minute change in who is the male of the pair has resulted in two eggs laid, which so far, he has chosen not to incubate. No one is sure why he isn’t incubating, but I think most just feel that the pair did not have enough time together to form a good enough bond before eggs were laid. It is possible that male that was around until just recently is the father of the eggs, rather than the current male.
The new male had brought the female “Blair” some food just after incubation began, but since then has neither brought food or provided incubation. Blair had to leave the nest this morning for over an hour (hopefully to get food). The watch caution is simply that while Blair is making heroic attempts at incubating without support, unless the male begins to take some duties, the effort is likely to fail.
After the roller coaster of emotions that we have gone through at this nest, this current situation and possible difficult outcome may be enough for some people to choose not to watch. While we celebrate the hopeful beginnings of a new pair bond, to failure of the eggs and Blair’s attempts may be a bit hard to watch. I have to admit, as much as I love this nest and the wonderful folks associated with it, I am having some trouble, even if it is only with my heart, in watching Blair try so hard. I know it is nature, but so are our hearts, and that’s okay too.

well the male does come to nest. he mated there today and was there 2 more times. Yes, not incubating but I feel he is providing food off nest and the food he brought to nest was a courtship offering.
so I am hopeful. His hormones are not where hers are and if it like RAdison a few years ago at Edmonton, ( yes a falcon but...)she had to get her own food for awhile and like this new male , Chase brought food offerings twice and that was it. RADisson was off eggs at times for over an hour to get food and we thought the eggs would not hatch. Chase eventually came to box and stayed for a bit but the main thing right now is she eats . This is exactly how it happened at Edmonton.
We cannot see beyond the nest, and so as always, it is easy to jump to conclusions.
The second egg is for sure, new guy. no way it would be the other male as she will not have mated with him for well over a week. So I think a wait and see, and there is nothing hard here right now. It is hard when eggs hatch and this happens an d the chicks die, (that I i will not watch)
I personally have hope. and I have hope because of the kids and because of all the things we see at nests that make no sense. another thing is, the new male may be protecting from other eagles. We have no way of knowing . and if this si so , he will not be doing much hunting.
and it is senseless to be mad at this male . He is doing nothing wrong.
here is a short video I took today. the cam has been unsteady the last few days
here is link to updates and there are 2 videos , one of visit and one of mating
Great coverage, Bev...just an FYI...egg #2 could have been taylor's...Eagles can store sperm. Some literature says 7 days...some say up to 2 weeks or longer..Hopefully he'll think egg #2 is his and incubation hormones will kick in..
Beautiful, very cold (-24 F) morning at the nest. Blair is currently calling Mister..hope he shows up with breakfast!!
I've been checking in on Blair all day. She's still going it alone...has been calling periodically...finally, she leaves (for the first time at 13:20 nest time~14:20 eastern time)...Hopefully, she's getting something to eat...or maybe having a little "chat" with Mister..
I started watching this camera on the 5th season. It is so different then others, I have watched. It is like watching a courtship between two eagles and who they end up with. Most nest are well paired up with mature couples. It will be just another season at the nest for them , but learning is great for the chatters and mods. Everything is new. The waiting game is just starting.
Definitely lots to learn with this cam based on what is going on now!! Feel free to keep us updated. I have such a hard time watching all of this play out. I do have my fingers crossed for a positive outcome, but I'm not holding my breath.
Its a great group of chatters and mods...such a friendly and supportive chat room...something you can't always say about "chat rooms" you go into, unfortunately.
I must admit, I do miss the Lucy and Larry days...Now that was an eagle love story. I just loved those 2!!...My fantasy is that they are back together somewhere!!

I am with you SGB. Lucy and Larry were a special couple. I too believe that they are together somewhere up there!

In the early morning Blair called the male (Larry) into the nest. There was a lot of talking and then Larry started moving things around right next to Blair. Then Larry sat right next to Blair. Larry stays with Blair for about 3-5 minutes. After that Blair got up and started to move the eggs. Then Larry flew away.
Yesterday our jornal question was how can we get the eggs out of the nest so we can have a new cutch. One of our classmates said to slingshot his snake Lucky up to the nest so Lucky could take care them.
