Many thanks for the great coverage of E8!!
I just returned home (left yesterday before E8 was renested)
and the first think I did was check on E8 news!!

E8 was being fed by M15 a few minutes ago(10?) and he got some straw/nest material (looks like pine tree needle things) stuck... M15 made a slight attempt to get it out (several minutes ago...)
I had to look away; I'm wondering if E7 put him into submission because he's lying down now and not trying to dislodge it...
Please update if you can.

Bonbon, I wasn't on when it happened, but Chat says that Harriet came to his rescue and that he had tried to swallow part of a bird that was in the nest & it didn't work. He is apparently just worn out from the trauma. :girlsad3:

Actually, it looks like E7 is trying to comfort him. He went over, laid beside him, & put a wing around him like he was hugging him. :loveheart:

Thank YOU! I just checked the chat - and whatever it was stuck in E8's throat, Harriet pulled it out! Someone described it as a piece of intestine with nest material on it...
Whew!
(I don't usually over-react and have to look away, BUT when I start waving my hand at the screen, I know it's time to turn it off!) :girlcrazy:

I would have trouble watching that, too. There were several people in Chat who said they had to walk away. :sum7:

They seem to think it was a bird's tail that got stuck.

There was just another feed & now Harriet is covering both kids. It must be chilly there. It is brutally cold here! :cold:

Here's a tape of the 'incident' last night... Harriet saved the day and pulled the foreign object out, the tape buffers at that point (approx. 2:56min into video).

Obviously this is not the same ... you must have a shorter version ... I've been through the first 30' and still have not seen a ding dong thing of the event ... even though the title claims Harriet comes to the rescue of E8 ... I'll look through the rest later to tell where you all should come in ... :12val:

This is the video I meant to post - the 'extrication' took place at 5:52pm Eastern... which was buffered out of this video - I'll continue to look for it. Meanwhile, after watching this one a couple of times - I don't think I was over-reacting (much). :girlcrazy:

Yes! Go to approx. 48:36 minutes into this video - the removal of the "thing" is at 5:52pm! I don't know what it was - but IMO, Harriet may have saved this little one's life! (Notice that she shows the 'thing' to E7 - and then moves it away. (Reminds me of last season when Harriet pulled the pelt out of Ozzie's throat.)

I just watched the video of the choking, which I fortunately didn't see yesterday. I saw what the object looked like & remember seeing her trying to feed E8 the same thing today & he turned his head away. He apparently recognized it as something to avoid, so it appears that he learned a lesson from this experience! :16val:

man, that E7 at about 3 :17 pm . just now, was especially brutal to E8 . not as much food in larder. I think M15 just brought in a fish. and he is securing his place but this is why I tend not to watch much at first.

step up the fishing guys. I think the removal of E8 just confused them a tad with how much to hunt etc. Things have been going great but this was harsh.

but such is the life of these poor guys. D8 is a tough cookie and will be fine. they do both look great

So true, they must have been so confused when E8 returned... M15 was on a roll the other day with food: rabbit, raccoon, a couple of fish; time for him to step it up again.
