:13val: Obviously this is not the same ... you must have a shorter version ... I've been through the first 30' and still have not seen a ding dong thing of the event ... even though the title claims Harriet comes to the rescue of E8 ... I'll look through the rest later to tell where you all should come in ... :12val:

OOPs! Sorry about that!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpjzg2vgAwI

This is the video I meant to post - the 'extrication' took place at 5:52pm Eastern... which was buffered out of this video - I'll continue to look for it. Meanwhile, after watching this one a couple of times - I don't think I was over-reacting (much). :girlcrazy:

Yes! Go to approx. 48:36 minutes into this video - the removal of the "thing" is at 5:52pm! I don't know what it was - but IMO, Harriet may have saved this little one's life! (Notice that she shows the 'thing' to E7 - and then moves it away. (Reminds me of last season when Harriet pulled the pelt out of Ozzie's throat.)

I just watched the video of the choking, which I fortunately didn't see yesterday. I saw what the object looked like & remember seeing her trying to feed E8 the same thing today & he turned his head away. He apparently recognized it as something to avoid, so it appears that he learned a lesson from this experience! :16val:

man, that E7 at about 3 :17 pm . just now, was especially brutal to E8 . not as much food in larder. I think M15 just brought in a fish. and he is securing his place but this is why I tend not to watch much at first.

step up the fishing guys. I think the removal of E8 just confused them a tad with how much to hunt etc. Things have been going great but this was harsh.

but such is the life of these poor guys. D8 is a tough cookie and will be fine. they do both look great

I agree, cat and bev. :flirty:
So true, they must have been so confused when E8 returned... M15 was on a roll the other day with food: rabbit, raccoon, a couple of fish; time for him to step it up again.
Loza - great video of those adorable FEET!
edited: 3:49 E7 still being fed, E8 still has his little head down - but he's peeping away! :loveheart:

Been watching on and off since noon and this was the first feed I saw. I missed most of the feed. E8 is so submissive and crop looks small. Did E8 get anything? I just saw E7 trying to rip off E8's wing. Really brutal. E8 is so fearful, he/she hits the deck even when touched by a parent. Dad keeps bringing in fluff for the nest. He needs to go hunting!

well I am done watching here for a few days. E7 again just was so brutal. nearly pulled E7s wing off. as soon as Harriet came in he moved up and started on E8. E8 needs a good feed today, and a storm is brewing. E7 has no room to put anymore.

I know all will be well but enough for me. I am a feint of heart and know when to pull back.

I can't watch that either... Poor little eaglet. Remember last season when Harriet started feeding E6 in the evenings - after E5 went to sleep? Maybe she'll do that this season.

I can't handle much more of this either, especially if E8 doesn't get fed! I'm hoping there will be a bedtime feed & E8 will be fed, but although a parent is at the pond, they don't seem to be fishing. :14val:

I'm not watching either, catw. Don't think E8 has been fed since this a.m. (according to FB).
Also hoping for an evening feed.

silly me went in and took a peek and there is fresh food now but E7 will not leave E8 alone. I have seen lots but this is above and beyond. E8 will not starve yet, but he has to get away form the Budda. when he tried the Budda follows him and just reefs on hims so I am really away now.

I know we have to trust the parents and Harriet is smart and is trying to stuff the heck out of Budda but he just will not leave E7 . I know how it works but I still cannot handle the young eagles.

Now that the cam is showing the nest again, I see that the other parent brought in some food. Unfortunately, it is not E8 eating. :girlsad3: So far today, E7 hasn't filled up & gone into a coma so that E8 could eat. :furious:

Image

Now the other parent is in the nest & E8 managed to walk over to it. E7 is full & is not eating offered food, but he still doesn't want E8 to eat! Every time E8 lifted his head for a bite, he was pecked or had his wing pulled viciously! He gave up after a couple of bites. I wished Harriet would take her beak & knock E7 across the nest because she was watching what was happening.
:furious:
