Talon posted this video of an ASS that was way to close. I hate people that don't follow the rules :furious:

Federal guidleines say that while eagle watching you should be 230 feet if having a buffer, and 660 feet without. However, some nests are near public roads and turns it into eagle watching etiquette that I would like to call common sense.

this has been going on all nesting season...I'm glad he got video...this person could get arrested..

we had this same problem at the Richmond nest several years ago...even though the location was never disclosed, somebody took the view we got from the cams, matched the area to location on google maps, and located the nest. thankfully, the nest was on private property, but the homeowners were quite upset because this person would park outside the gate of their driveway...it was a mess..it made no difference that we had asked people not to do this. We discovered which person had done this (she was bragging about finding the nest and other chatters told us)..we asked this person to stop and be respectful, but she never would. We encouraged the homeowners to call the police, but they never did.

Perhaps someone can get a license plate number. Just so wrong.

Cams are back up :sum9:

FB post:
Are you ready for Season 6? Cam work was done today and we have them working. We have more to do. In a couple weeks we will climb and clean domes, do a tiny bit of trimming, and inspect all audio cords by the cams. There is audio now, but there is some damage to wiring I am told. Today, we replaced all the CAT 5 and power cables for the second season in a row. One PVC pipe was cracked, and allowed mice to do serious damaged as well as another area was opened up for them to get in. I won't get into details on that but I have my suspicions. I have a new IR illuminator that is being shipped from Switzerland and on a slow boat. So when it gets here plans will be made to go up and install and do the other necessary work. For now enjoy the fact that there is a view and the cams work. They will remain on. A special thank you goes out to Eric Wright and Mike Lawrence you gave of their time and efforts today.

Thanks, kittenface! Here's some more info from the Hancock forum:

Last season, Eagles were seen on the nest on Sept 21 and 24th - that's right around the corner. This nest is so overdue for a great season!
