She's sitting tight up there this morning. Snow stopped overnight. Hanover had at least seven inches of the stuff. Don't know what the temperature is in Hanover, but it's 26 in Harrisburg this morning. We're about 30 miles north of Hanover.

According to Jo Anne on FB, she's been waiting awhile for Dad to bring her some food. Probably not a good hunting day with all the snow & the creeks frozen over.

She is apparently very hungry cause she flew off & left the eggs unattended.

Thank you Beth for posting a capture of both there. I was getting worried about Dad since I hadn't seen him all day!

Did you happen to see if he brought food?

Actually, someone on FB who had watched pretty closely today & saw the second one arrive said the one who arrived was the larger of the 2, so it was apparently dad who was on the nest all day. He probably ate before he relieved mom.

From watching Hanover yesterday, it seems like mom has more gold on the tips of her feathers & dad doesn't, but I'm not really sure. :girlcrazy:

I don't know about eagles, but I think for most birds the female incubates at night. And they take turns during the day. I've been watching the cam for a while now, and have NO CLUE which eagle is on the nest. Busy fooling with the grassy stuff at the nest cup.

Hays is having an easier time of it...but, they paid their dues earlier...Hanover's been lucky to escape the snow that Hays has seen all season...
