McKat says on BCAW Facebook: "Right after I posted dad JJ brought a bird. He started to try to feed them but they were aggressive (probably very hungry) and he left the intact bird. They are trying to feed themselves."

I hope they get their act together. It rained here today and yesterday, so that might be what the hunting problem is.

Thank you Nancy and Beth, I’m not usually alarmist but it has seemed strange for maybe a week or so. Mom dropped off another whole bird a little after 6pm. She didn’t attempt to feed them. They managed to eat but I’m not sure how well.

Thanks for keeping a eye out on this nest McKat…
Hope today will be a better 'feed' day.

Parent dropped off a bird at approx. 9:15am eastern time, no attempt to feed. Chicks are trying to self feed. A parent was visible in nest early this morning for a while. I think mom not sure it was still dark, bands not visible.

Thanks for the coverage, everyone!!! I've been gone most of the past few days and unable to check on the kids!!

Glad to know its looking better...it was pretty out of control for a couple of days when it came to food...not to mention the cam was being uncooperative...at least for me.

I'm hoping they will figure out a way to zoom out so that we can see them when they leave the box.!!

I've also messaged Barb about the cam situation...and my puzzlement that the kids were not hacked when they were banded. I think Barb has her hands full with baby birds right now.

Thank you Skygirlblue, today was a relief on the feeding for sure. Hoping to get more information on the decision not to hack the chicks. Have a good evening all.

Sadly today (Monday 5/31) at 4:45pm I see no evidence of a parent visiting since early this morning when they left a small bird. Still problems here I’m afraid.

Right after I posted Mom brought food and is doing a good feeding. I think there are still problems but at least they are getting dinner. :)
