I think it's here. Thought I could see the purple band on the left leg.
4 seconds into your video I had a chuckle. Indy-Froona is bowing and (no doubt) quacking and the male is looking to the sealing. As if he is totally NOT interested . . .

I noticed that too...it was too funny!!! I got the impression that he was thinking, "what the heck is going on here..and who are you!"...and then he did get in the box with her!!!

Thanks for the video & pics! I couldn't say for sure that it was Indy Froona, but the resident female doesn't have bands & this one definitely does! :blow:

I have been watching the recorded time lapse video's from 11.00 until 13.00 hours.
It looks to me that this female has been in a fight, she is doing some serious preening and a lot of downy feathers end up on the ledge.
Also some on her head and some sticking out on her back.
She has a lot of black spots on her front side. I couldn't get a clear view of the colour of the band on the left leg.
Was the female that nested here last season banded?

EDIT: I see you answered my question before I posted it Nancy

Gee, I hope the resident female here is OK--she was such a good mom this past season. I did notice the downy feathers & thought that maybe they were from Froona molting into her adult feathers. Not sure that makes sense as this point in time, though. :-?

I'm not familiar with these nests, but with IndyFroona in the area, of course, I'm drawn here. I am so very sorry to hear that there might have been a take-over and a battle. My heart goes out to those of you who know and love the residents here. I wish there were enough nests to go around for everyone! Kittenface, you do a fabulous job of reporting sightings at these sites.

Keep us posted Kitten. Could this be the unbanded female from 2010? Maybe IndyFroona has moved on....

Could it have been the male and his bands not clearly visible?

Also, there were a few times when you could see that "someone" was sitting to the left just out of cam view...I would see a wing every now and then...

edit: oops...I just noticed I have my 10 am's out of order...sorry...

I guess what I'm hoping is that Froona decides to go back to Port Washington (where there isn't a resident female) & that they upgrade that cam to be as good as this one! That's not asking much, is it?
