What do you all think? PattiO, obxbarb and someone from another forum all speculated that the 3rd egg was laid the evening of Feb. 9th; then there was constant incubation all day on the 10th; and we got a visual of 3 this morning. I had originally gone with the speculated date of Feb. 9th for our BCAW nesting calendar. Should I change it?

With all the excitement focused on what is going on in the nest,
of course rightfully so, I thought I would post a picture or two of what this new
nest looks like from the ground. I took these photos Wednesday afternoon.
Mom was in there at this time.

I would like to share a story about another pair of eagles that have a nest
on Jamestown Island, Va. This is about one hour west of Norfolk Botanical Garden.
There is no cam as there is no funding. I have no actual evidence
that this pair is sitting on any eggs but judging by their behavior over the past 2-3 weeks
I would venture a guess that it's possible. These shots are from this morning. I have no idea
what he/she has in it's talons. Our NBG pair are having a peaceful time of it, which is nice!

A closer look reveals the other eagle in the nest.

This is a rare sight that my wife and I really enjoyed. Both eagles on the nest. The
eagle further back in the picture left shortly after this picture was taken.

Thank you, Jim, for those shots of that beautiful pair of eagles near NBG. You have watched eagles long enough to know their behavior, so if you think there are eggs, I believe it. Sounds like you visit this pair regularly.

Gosh, where has time gone that the NBG eagles have 3 eggs, gone through a snow storm and fended off pesky intruders.
 Thanks for all the photos and commentary everyone. I don't feel like I have missed a thing!

Jim, special thanks to you and your wife for visiting the NBG and Jamestown VA nests and providing us with first hand reports. Your pictures are awesome!!
