oh kittenface, you are needed! this is getting scary now. That was not liberty, and belle has been calling for him to no avail. very upsetting, has something happenned to liberty? she has left eaglet twice now, just with some water. she will have to leave to hunt if liberty doesnt return, and in the big picture, cannot be away from 2 eaglets to hunt, has to defend nest. oh no it is looking bad. intruder will eventually return to claim the nest if liberty is not there... am trying to stay calm but now i am starting to really worry about lib and the outcome of the eaglet (s)

Yes, thankfully she is back and I saw the little hatchling moving, but unfortunately she didn't bring any food with her.

There are alot of people watching who cannot positively identify Liberty vs Belle. They have not been on the nest at the same time either. I can tell them apart when they are together, but not so good seperately. Most of the people watching today are newbies and cant verify either. We need our fellow viewers who are more experienced like kittenface, SGB, SusanE, Leica eagles, etc who can identify so we know if they are switching out of our view, but yes they are switching. I cant tell unless I see both. HELP!

I don't know these two well enough either to tell which is which. Kittenface and PattiO are the best at identifying them, and KF thinks it is Belle currently on the nest. I'll check some other forums and see if anyone else has seen Liberty today. Be back in a bit.

She left again at 2:58 p.m. nest time.

Belle (I assume) is back at 3:06 p.m. calling and at one point flashed her wings as if to chase something off.

Just the way she is acting I think the intruder is still in the area CLOSE

From what I'm reading at other forums, the local contacts have been notified although there is no news yet.

There was another close fly-by by the intruder a minute ago. This is Belle - Liberty has not been seen since yesterday afternoon. :( If you want to keep up with the people who know the nest the best you need to go on the blog.... Glo77 and Mema-Jo are there. Lots of local folks too.

she is still frantically calling for liberty, and the intruder did come back again. I am afraid this is going to have a bad outcome...my heart is soooo heavy for belle right now, i cannot stand to hear her cries for liberty... will check out blog, thanks

Thanks Patti. I was just reading the Blog trying to get caught up on the last few days activity. I see the name of the first eaglet is Paddy O'Joy.

Wasn't it last year at Fort St. Vrain that Dad was gone for a day or two during a snow storm or something and Mom sat there calling and calling, and he eventually turned up. Let's keep positive thoughts here.

An adult just landed on the cam and is calling. Now has jumped down into the nest. Probably Belle again. She's really watching the skies.

its ok folks! we can stop worrying!!! John, a NCTC employee, posted that people inside watching have told him that Lib is actually the one on the nest all day today, and that Belle was in a nearby branch or tree, all is ok. Lib was the one crying out, mantling at the intruder!! He swears they said all is ok stop worrying! they have made me a worry wort too, i am afraid
