Two eagles have been confirmed at the nest as of this morning. One has generally been staying higher in the tree (above the camera). The behavior we are seeing from the adult eagles is a little different from what is typical at this stage in the nesting process. Baby is still alone..crawling around...I've had the recorder on the cam..and have heard nothing...thank goodness its pretty warm there..

Wow, this is pretty brutal. This must be a tough place to find food. It seems to take them hours sometimes. I'm flipping with the Norfolk Cam, which is a total opposite.

The eaglet is alone at the nest, sitting up, head bobbing.

The female just came back. Didn't feed.

Thanks, Mick. It looks like she was off the nest for approx. 1 hr. 15 mins. No food. She's quiet.

No further updates from NCTC.

She looked up and started calling, looking around. I'm going to guess that the other eagle is sitting in the upper branches.

She remained alert and just left again.

She wasn't gone long and when she returned she was vocalizing and "flashed" her wings as if trying to keep someone away. She was faced to the 1 o'clock position when she did that.

There was what appeared to be another fly by from above . This is all I caught. This is what you are referencing Susan.

Update from NTTC

While we are still working to confirm what the current situation is with the adult eagles, we would like to remind all of our dedicated eagle fans that the eagles who nest on the NCTC campus are wild birds. As such, they are exposed to the same environmental pressures any eagle faces in nature. While the NCTC camera provides us with an opportunity to observe these magnificent birds in their natural environment, it is not our policy to interfere with them in any way.
