Belle is calling...and then appeared to track something overhead..

Ok...I've got some video...I can't tell if she is just going through the motions of feeding or if she is actually bringing something up for the little one..

I'll be back...its about 6 minutes...and I went full screen, so the quality is going to be rather poor...(especially the beginning)

Reviewing the video, I believe I see something liquid being feed to the eaglet!

I agree...but, its really hard to tell...I think my better video was the one right before this one...in the first one I'm pretty sure I saw liquid shake off of Belle's mouth...

The folks at Shepherdstown Eagle Daily agree they saw water and then something liquid being fed. Talons crossed.

a little footnote...quality is poor...I can't enlarge the cam with my browser, so the only way I can record is to set the recorder, hope I've guessed the right location, then go full screen with the cam...that's why you'll see the freaky beginning...sorry its so long..

I think it is....Mick, did you record the start of this "feed"...I was not recording but watching full screen and you could definitely see Belle flick liquid off her beak...I wish I had been recording then.

I don't think the little thing is getting stuff every beak to beak...but there are several times I swear it looks like he is licking his lips..

The latest ground report by locals posted at 7:01 p.m.:

"Belle was still in the nest and Hussy Trudy is up high in the tree. She is a very large bird!
We stayed there about an hour and saw a lot of blackbirds, but no Liberty, anywhere. Looked everywhere."

Now, I'll watch the video.

Thanks Susan...that disturbs me that they didn't see Liberty...I wonder how long Belle can keep this up...she must be very hungry herself...

Lib needs to at least show up...I do hope he is ok...

Thanks for that video, SGB. Gosh, what a way to feed a chick. I guess in an emergency you do whatever you have to do. The comparison photos of Paddy's before & after crop was encouraging, Mick.

Hopefully, Belle is able to eat off site somewhere even if just a few bites before the intruder finds her.

The intruder just landed on the far side of the nest and Belle beat her off.

Belle is "beaking" the baby again...Is there anyone that could just go and drop a fish below the nest tree..like an oops...is that legal?

I also read that a couple of locals are going tomorrow morning and another in the afternoon. I missed the intruder nest visit. Glad to hear Belle was able to get her off.
