the eagle cam is NOT located in Gorham, I am and so is BRI but not the nest. That is located on private property near Ellsworth Maine, close to Acadia National Park in Hancock. You would never find it.

The falcon cam is located under the Casco Bay Bridge that goes between Portland and South Portland and you would have better luck standing on the bridge watching to see one fly or on the ground at the end of the So Portland side where there is a small park but you can't see the scrape unless you are out in the bay. And with all the tankers and tug boats out there it is best to stick to land watching.

But have fun on your trip to Maine, mud season is a lovely time to visit.

This is the nest that brought me to the eagle cams also PattiO. Up to then I was strictly falcons and new to that also.

Stayed up many a night watching to see a hatch and see if it survived. We were all documenting. There were 2 that hatched that year was there not. I think they were not sure. Dad went missing and so mom went away for hours and no one thought the eggs would hatch. DAd returned but had something wrong with talon, I believe.

I am glad they kept the cam going and that everyone stuck there. When you watch too many cams you cannot do everyone justice.

But today, what a day :danceegg: :danceegg:

Video: Maine Eagles Rebuild Their Nest in Fall 2006

I recorded only one video of the Maine Bald Eagles prior to the one recorded today. I was surprised I still had the video on external HD. It had originally been posted on PutFile, but all videos and pictures were lost after the website was taken down.

There were such high hopes in 2006! I just added the credits at the end and uploaded it to YT. It's very sentimental, with an Alan Silvestri sound track.

it has been reported the eagles now have 2 eggs. Due to camera angle and deep nest there is no way to be 100% sure but someone recorded egg laying posture and then egg rolling yesterday, so now 2 eggs at this Maine eagle nest!

The first egg was laid March 24. Do we know the date of the second egg?

3/27 beans. Something was going on this afternoon ... eggs were uncovered for about 55 minutes. But the adults were off and on the nest. Perhaps another female around. I hope the eggs are OK. :egg16:
